100 Letters Later
If you had asked me two years ago, “Would you like to commit to writing 100 short articles?” I don’t know if I would have embraced the challenge. And yet, if my count is accurate, here I am writing the 103rd issue of the Good Leaven Letter, and I am grateful. Here are some of the things I am grateful for:
The inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
The love and support of my lovely wife Mary, who is my first reader and editor.
The ongoing encouragement and feedback from my readers.
The fruit the Good Leaven Letter has borne in their lives.
The authors of the resourceful content that has been the subject of many of these letters.
The deepening of my own knowledge as I have internalized these resources by writing about them.
The beautiful and elegant formatting and design, done by Rebecca Loomis.
The gradual improvement of my writing process.
The increase in my commitment, integrity and discipline.
The honing of my voice, craft, and style.
Who I have become as a result of being faithful to weekly writing.
I am excited to see what will have changed after I’ve written issue number 1000. This week I invite you to ask:
What’s your version of 100 letters? That is, what practice have you remained faithful to for an extended period of time? What has changed as a result of your fidelity? Who have you become as a result of your fidelity? What might change if you were faithful for ten times longer than you’ve already been?
God Bless,
Dan
